June 2024
Wow. What a start to the summer. We won TWO awards at the IAAF Automechanika Awards in Birmingham. Callum won the Young Mechanic of the Year and as a group, we won the Best-Multi Site of the Year 🙌🎉
We were also among the Best Marketing and Content Creator finalists. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a clean sweep of awards but we’re still incredibly pleased with what we have achieved!

Another month, another qualification! Congratulations to Damien for getting two new qualifications in the bag. Not only has he completed his MOT Site Manager training, but also received his certificate of completion for one of Andy Savva’s many courses. This one included Financial Understanding, Marketing and Brand Identity Essentials for the Garage Business.

Not all of our training is focussed solely on improving the technician’s skills in the workshop. We sent our site manager Nathan on the highly accredited Garage Inspector course by Andy Savva. This course covered Financial Understanding, Marketing and Brand Identity Essentials for the Garage Business.

We’re thrilled to announce another fantastic achievement for our team! Callum has successfully passed his Diagnostic Procedure exam, adding another impressive qualification to his repertoire. 🙌
January 2024
One of our longest-standing technicians Will has recently passed two new certifications. First his IMI International Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement and then completing his IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components too.
What does this mean? It means that our technicians have the highest level of qualifications available to work on Electric Vehicles diagnosis, repairs and replacement⚡
Not a technically a qualification, but a massive learning experience nonetheless. In January we sent Tina our Operations Manager and Hannah our Marketing Manager up to Birmingham for the 1Tec Autohub Connect event. Not only did we learn a lot from other brilliant independent garages across the country, but we also got a moment in the spotlight too, with Tina taking to the stage for a presentation.
December 2023 Qualifications
We’re ending the year on a high with another qualification under our technician’s belts. James from our Cranleigh site gained profound insights and hands-on expertise in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine management systems in modern vehicles. The course focused on electronic monitoring and control of components, mastering the use of various diagnostic test equipment. The acquired skills include the accurate interpretation of live data and test results, empowering technicians to excel in the dynamic landscape of diesel engine management.
November 2023 Qualifications
We’ve had a particularly busy November. Our Operations Manager Tina and CCM Cranleigh Workshop Manager Simon took a trip up to Hartlepool to visit the TMD Friction Pagid factory. Delving into the intricate process of crafting brake pads, they witnessed firsthand the rigorous testing procedures these essential components undergo before hitting the road.
We also sent two of our Service Advisors (Kara & Amanda) and our Marketing Manager (Hannah) on a 2-day training course titled Technical for Non-Technical. This course was specifically designed to empower our service team with a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of vehicles, their faults and repair processes. By breaking down complex jargon, we’re enhancing communication between our valued customers, service advisors, and skilled technicians.
October 2023 Qualifications
A big well done to our Gatwick boss Nathan who received not one, but two certifications this month. One for DSG operation, diagnosis and repair and the second for his level 3 Electric/Hybrid vehicle system repair and replacement.
September 2023 Qualifications
We’ve had a pretty busy September and are proud to announce we won an award at the Independent Garage Awards in Leicester! Our marketer Hannah won the award for Best Digital Engagement against multiple leading independent garages across the UK.
We also need to give a big pat on the back to Sharon for flying through her online courses to become more qualified and gain valuable insights into how to make your experience with us even better.
August 2023 Qualifications
All of our technicians attended a TMD Brake Course at our Gatwick site. Experts from TMD, Pagid and Euro Car Parts came down to take a deep dive into brake repairs. Discussing the best practices for brake fitting, repairing and maintenance tips that we can share with our loyal customers.
July 2023 Qualifications
We’ve got 2 for 1 in July. A big well done to Hannah and Callum for earning their new certifications.
Callum completed his IMI Level 3 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement in July meaning he is qualified in
- Working safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle
- Using information to carry out the task
- Carrying out repairs on high-energy electrical systems
- Recording information and making suitable recommendations
Hannah aced her Google Analytics 4 exam meaning she is able to provide deeper insights into our website and provide a better experience for the users.

May 2023 Qualifications
Congratulations to one of our owners Barry on passing his DAS test! 🙌 Now as a fully-fledged motorbike rider, Barry can also take his exams for becoming a motorbike MOT tester.
April 2023 Qualifications
Well done to Colin, one of our most senior and longstanding technicians at CCM for passing his Chassis Control Systems certification. Another one under the belt for him! This course provides training on how to identify how steering, suspension, brakes, wheels and more affect the chassis system and overall safety of the vehicle.
March 2023 Qualifications
Congratulations to James at our Cranleigh site for passing his Essential Electricals exam in March. Modern vehicles are packed full of electrical components so we need to ensure our teams have an extensive knowledge of electrical systems, how they work, and more importantly, how to accurately diagnose a fault. This course tested James’ understanding of the correct use of test equipment and recognising the expected results to aid diagnosis and contribute to a first-time repair.
February 2023 Qualifications
We’ve only gone and done it again! For the second year in a row, CCM has won the South England Prestige Awards Auto Repair Specialist of the Year 2022/2023.
January 2023 Qualifications
We spent the evening in Brighton on the 25th for the EV Ready event set up by Garage Wire to get insight from the leading EV specialists in the country. Showcasing the very latest tools, equipment and services needed to cater for EVs and providing guidance to independents like us on how to navigate the changing landscape. We’ve already started getting our technicians EV-qualified, with our highest qualified technician holding his level 4 certification.
A new year for us means a new outlook on training. For 2023, we plan to be sending technicians on training every month, with 33 courses already booked throughout the year. We’re starting the year strong with 3 of our technicians from our Gatwick site going on a two-day DSG Repair Solutions and Transmission Technology Level 3 course in Brighton.
Over this two-day course, our team took a deep dive into Volkswagen wet and dry clutches, clutch and mechatronics removal, gearbox disassembly and re-assembly, common problems and repair solutions, Mechatronic repair and common issues as well as clutch operation, installation and setup, plus so much more.
October 2022 Qualifications
We have been selected as finalists at the Top Garage Awards 2022 under the Multi-site Garage category. The awards night took place on the 1st of October and unfortunately, we were just pipped to the post. We had a great night sharing ideas with like-minded professionals and look forward to doing it all again next year.
August 2022 Team Qualifications
CCM were finalists in three categories at the IGA BIG Awards – Customer Service, Communication and the Independent Garage of the Year awards. Although we didn’t come first in any of the categories, we did win a highly commended award for the Independent Garage of the Year which we are incredibly proud of! Over 1,200 garages entered the competitions so we’re so pleased with our team for achieving such a high award!
March 2022 Team Qualifications
All our teams had a chance to meet with Matt from Varta to learn about all the latest updates. Did you know that 40% of national breakdowns are a direct result of battery failure? 20 years ago, cars had less than 20 electrified devices within them but modern cars now have over 150 systems relying on the battery.
We learnt about smart charge systems, stop-start systems, new battery technology and much more.
Callum went on a two-day DSG training course, to learn all about these complex automatic gearboxes, common faults and how to fix them. Now we can proudly say that we have another DSG qualified technician in our team.
