You may have seen recently on our social media that we were taking part in a new challenge – #BreakoutForBen. This is a fantastic challenge set by the guys at Ben – Support for Life to get motor trade workers clocking the miles. We had to run, walk and cycle the 1,722 miles from Pembrey Circuit in North Wales to Silverstone. We’re sure you can agree that is quite the journey!
How Did We Do in #BreakoutForBen?
Although we sadly didn’t hit our target of £500, we did get 62% of the way there with an impressive £310 in the kitty. This was added to the overall funds which hit over an incredible £130,000! How fantastic!
Not only did we raise a lot of money for a charity, but we had a great time doing it. We got the perfect excuse to enjoy the great outdoors and spend more quality time with our families. It also brought out some healthy competition within the team as we competed against each other to get the fastest times and beat our personal bests.
What Will Happen with The Money Raised?
All the money from donations goes straight to Ben and will change the lives of people across the UK. £50 alone is enough to fund a counselling session for someone going through a difficult time like Darrell…
“After years of fighting a battle and feeling so down and depressed, I can now look to the future. The support and help from Ben has meant a lot. There are no words I can use to express our sincere thanks for everything that Ben has done for us.”
Darrell
Darrell was battling depression after making the difficult decision to leave his job as a recovery truck driver to care for his son.
As well as a reduction in donations in 2020, Ben also saw an increase in people requesting support for their mental health.
We can’t thank you enough for your donations. Every penny goes toward making a big difference to those in need and we’re sure they will be incredibly grateful!
We can’t wait to do #BreakoutForBen again next year!
