A car MOT tests whether your vehicle meets the minimum safety and environmental standards required to be driven legally on UK roads.
It doesn’t assess the overall condition of the car or pick up every mechanical issue, but it does cover the systems that matter most for safety, and keeping it current is a legal requirement for any vehicle over three years old.
At CCM, MOTs are carried out by qualified testers at all three of our garages – Cranleigh, Gatwick, and Ewhurst – with straightforward booking and honest, no-pressure reporting.
We’ll explain exactly what’s caused the failure and give you a clear, itemised quote for the work needed. There’s no obligation to have the repair done with us; although if you do, we’ll retest the relevant items at no additional charge once the work is complete.
A car that passes its MOT isn’t necessarily in perfect mechanical health – the test has a defined scope, and there’s plenty it doesn’t cover. If you’d like a broader health check alongside your MOT, just ask, and we can carry out a more comprehensive inspection at the same time.
CCM has been trusted by customers across Surrey and Sussex for over 30 years, and recognised by the industry to match, with awards including back-to-back Automechanika Best Multi-Site Garage wins, consecutive IGA Best Independent Garage titles, and the Top Garage Award 2025.
